Tickford Park School Gets Best Ever Results12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Sun 21st Oct 2007 Less than a year after two schools amalgamated, Tickford Park Primary School in Newport Pagnell is celebrating its best ever set of results, according to figures recently released by the Government's's Department for Children, Schools and Families. The former Riverside First and Lovat Middle schools amalgamated in January 2007 to form Tickford Park Primary School, which also boasts a pre-school and a SureStart children's centre. In summer this year, eleven-year-old pupils took national tests in English, mathematics and science and achieved results that were among the very best in Milton Keynes, and substantially better than those achieved by the middle school in recent years. The Key Stage 1 results for seven-year-olds had also improved considerably. Liberal Democrat councillor Sam Potts, a governor at the school, is glad that the amalgamation has been so successful. He said: "School provision in Milton Keynes will see a lot of change over the next decade as some areas of the city grow and others will see a decline in young families. It is great to see this successful example of an amalgamation for other schools to follow as the city grows and develops. The amalgamated school is now in a strong position to develop these very high standards even further." ENDS
