DAMILOLA CONVICTIONS A GREAT RELIEF FOR FAMILY AND COMMUNITY12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 10th Aug 2006 Responding to today's convictions for the manslaughter of Damilola Taylor, Liberal Democrat Sam Potts said: "Today's convictions of two young men for the manslaughter of Damilola Taylor will be a great relief to Damilola's parents and family and the wider community in Peckham and beyond. "The pointless attack on Damilola is the sort of violence by young people on young people which it is a national priority to eradicate. "Damilola's tragic death has already been turned into inspirational educational work by the trust set up in his memory. "The best and lasting legacy to Damilola is for communities like Peckham in every city in Britain to be safe and happy places for all of our children." Ends
