Rayner launches construction of Extracare Village11.44.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 13th Jul 2005
Claire Rayner, famous 'agony aunt', visited Milton Keynes on 8 July to celebrate the start of work on the Extracare Retirement Village at Willen Park. In her speech to over 100 older people, Claire said: "Liberal Democrat, Milton Keynes Council is to be congratulated for this initiative. It's a giant step forward to provide more choice and offer greater independence and well-being to older people." Claire, sporting an all-gold outfit, explained that she had joined the Liberal Democrats because they are the only party that is committed to providing free personal care for older people. ENDS
