Time To Renew Our Commitment To The UN

"In spite of Iraq, successive British governments have justifiably been regarded for their commitment to the UN and its Charter. It is time to renew that commitment." says Sam Potts

Commenting on the publication of Kofi Annan's report on UN reform, Liberal Democrat Sam Potts said:

"The Secretary-General's initiative is to be welcomed but his exhortations will be to no avail unless there is real political will to put his proposals into effect.

"The UN stands at a cross-roads and the September summit will be crucial in determining whether progress can be made.

"In spite of Iraq, successive British governments have justifiably been regarded for their commitment to the UN and its Charter. It is time to renew that commitment."
